This FREE, family-friendly event boasts “green” entertainment and educational opportunities for all ages.
WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO:
- HawkQuest: watch four birds of prey take flight and learn about their habitat
- GoatBros: pet, feed and learn about our community goats
- Freshly Laid Food Truck: delicious brunch offerings for purchase starting at 9 a.m.
- Vento Coffee will have beverages for purchase starting at 9 a.m.
- Free Tree Saplings donated by Bartlett Tree Experts (limited supplies)
- Free Seedlings donated by SaveATree (limited supplies)
- Butterfly Pavilion, fun green-themed crafts, pollinator and landscaping education and much, much more!
WHAT TO PLAN FOR:
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. All activities and vendors open
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Tree Planting
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. HawkQuest Presentation
11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Book reading by Louisville Library
You can also take part in the traditional Tree City USA tree-planting ceremony where we will be planting additional trees in Purple Park -no green-thumb needed, but feel free to bring a shovel!
Please note: Only service animals will be allowed at this event in order to protect the wildlife that will be present.

Arbor Day, initiated by J. Sterling Morton in 1872, aimed to promote tree planting and conservation. The first Arbor Day was celebrated in Nebraska, USA, where over a million trees were planted. Since then, Arbor Day has spread globally, becoming an annual event in many countries, highlighting the importance of trees and environmental stewardship.
